Q:  His mother is perpetually late. How can I make sure that she’ll be on time for the wedding?

A:  The best thing to do is to give his Mom a chaperone, or minder, of sorts—someone who can nudge her along so she doesn’t linger over coffee when she should be blow-drying her hair. Think about who you could enlist:  Does your groom have a sister or aunt who would be willing to take one the job? Without being dictatorial or demeaning, this “keeper” could make sure your FMIL sticks to a schedule that you and she devise ahead of time (hair and makeup from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M., get dressed from 2:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M., etc.). This should grand entrance on the wedding day is yours.
