Finding A Wedding Dress That Suits Your Figure

When shopping for a wedding dress, an important thing to remember is that you want to find one that suits your figure. Don’t let this scare you though; there are so many options available that you should not have any problems if you keep an open mind and shop around. Remember, women come in all different shapes and sizes, so a lot of wedding dresses are made to suit each body type, and many can also be altered to make them more comfortable.

The first thing that you need to do is understand your body type and figure. This will allow you to get a good idea as to where you should start your search. But just because some wedding dresses are geared towards somebody with your body type does not mean that you should settle if you do not like it. Everybody has different tastes, and going against trends is not necessarily a bad idea.

If you have an hourglass figure you should be able to shop for pretty much any dress. The fact of the matter is that most wedding dresses look good on an hourglass figure. If this is you, you have a full chest as well as full hips.

If you do have an hourglass figure, your best option is probably an A line style dress. Accompanying this with a v-neck or strapless dress is bound to look stunning. Both of these types of neckline will do a great job in bringing out one of your best assets, your chest.

On the other side of things, if you have an hourglass figure you may want to avoid an empire silhouette. They usually do not look good with hourglass figures, but this is not always the case. So again, make sure that you at least try one of these dresses on. You never know what is going to work for you.

For fuller figured brides, the best option is often a ball gown or an A line wedding dress. With a ball gown you will be able to conceal any features that you want to, while also bringing attention to your best assets. The key to finding a wedding dress if you are full figured is to find the one that shows off your favorite body parts. There is no cut and dry way of saying that a ball gown will do this. It may, or it may not. After you start to try on different wedding dresses you will get an idea of what works for you, as well as what you should avoid.

A pear shaped figure is one that calls for balance. If you have this type of figure you are smaller on the top, and heavier on the bottom. For this reason you will want to find a wedding dress that balances out the two. An A line style may be the way to go. If you combine this with a strapless neckline you will more than likely find something that looks great on you. The strapless neckline will help highlight to your upper body, and the A line style skirt will help to hide your larger bottom half. A lot of brides find this gives the type of balance that they are after. If you have a pear shaped figure it may be a good idea to bring attention to your top half in order to balance out the bottom.

The brides that often times have the most trouble finding a wedding dress are the ones that are tall, thin, and have little to no curves. They usually have a tough time finding something that ‘hangs’ right on them. But even though you may not think that there are dresses for this body type, plenty of options can be found.

If you are the tall, thin type, start out by trying on a ball gown style dress. You may find out that this style brings out the best in you by not making you appear as tall and thin. In addition, this option is great when it is coupled with a halter neck line because it will accentuate your upper body as well as your face. An A line style skirt with a strapless neckline is also a good option. With this, you will show off your body type by giving yourself a slender look.

Finding a dress type that suits your figure is not a one step process. Even though there are some styles that fit in well with certain body types, it does not mean that they will work for you. It won’t hurt to try on anything that is of interest to you. This way you will never have to worry about missing out on a particular style, and the more you try on, the more ideas you should get, bringing you ever closer to your dream gown.
